물론 이 세상에는

사람들마다

Of course, in this world,

every man has his own.

서로 다른 기능들을

수행한다.

It performs different

functions.

그렇지 않을 수가 없다.

It can't help but be.

지식, 기술, 재능,

에너지 수준 등의

knowledge, skill, talent,

energy level, etc

지적, 신체적 능력은

사람마다 크게 다르다.

Intellectual and

physical abilities

vary widely from

person to person.

정말로 중요한 것은

이 세상에서

What's really important

in this world is...

어떤 기능을

수행하는가가 아니라,

It's not what it does.

그 기능과 지나치게

동일화된 나머지

out of proportion

to its function

그것이 자신을 점령해

It's taking over itself.

완전히 그 역할이

되어 버리는 것이다.

It is to be completely

the role.

역할을 연기할 때

당신은 무의식적이다.

You are unconscious

when you play a role.

역할을 연기하고 있는

자신을 알아차리면,

If you notice yourself

playing the role,

그 알아차림이

당신과 그 역할 사이에

The perception is

between you and the role.

하나의 공간을 만든다.

Make a space.

그것이 역할로부터의 자유가

That's what freedom

from roles is all about.

시작되는 시점이다.

functions and roles.

People easily identify them

selves with them.

그것들은 에고의

일부가 된다.

They become

part of the Ego.

이것은 인간관계가

진실되지 못하고

It's because

relationships aren't real.

비인간적이며 멀어지는

원인이 된다.

It is inhumane and

causes alienation.

그 미리 정해진 역할들은

Those predetermined roles,

자신의 정체성에대한 

심리적 안정감을

A sense of psychological

stability about one'

다소 줄지는 모르지만,

I don't know if it's

going to go down a bit.

결국은 그것들 안에서

자기 자신을 잃어버리는

결과를 낳는다.

It results in the

loss of oneself.

 

특히 군대, 교회,

정부기관, 대기업 등의

쉽게 역할 정체성에

진실한 인간관계는 불가능해진다.

미리 정해진

역할 중에는

보편적인 역할도 있다.
